Rectification
In alchemy, rectification is the distillation of something to bring it to its highest purity.

It is the literal mechanism of the reflux vessel—boiling off impurities, condensing the vapour and repeating until the essence is pristine. It’s also embedded in the famous Hermetic motto V.I.T.R.I.O.L.:
Visita Interiora Terrae Rectificando Invenies Occultum Lapidem.
Today, we are conditioned to view evolution as a straight line—a steady, chronological march from ignorance to enlightenment, from origin to destination. But nature, geometry and spirit do not move in straight vectors. They breathe. They oscillate. They circulate.
If you trace the arc of this work, you will not find a linear ledger. You will find a circulation—a continuous cycle of ascent and descent between two fundamental poles. In alchemy, the process of transformation is rarely depicted as a single upward launch. It is rendered as a white dove repeatedly rising and falling within a sealed glass vessel (solve et coagula). It is a process of endless refinement.

The Descent (Rectification): The unconditioned, transcendent light—the initial flash of salvation—falls into the vessel of reality. To become real, it must submit to the anvil of enlightenment, undergoing the rigorous process of rectification. In alchemy, rectification is the repeated distillation of a volatile spirit through fire, boiling off egoic dross until the essence is pristine.

In polyhedral mathematics, to rectify is to precisely truncate the extremes of a shape, bringing the form into absolute geometric balance and stasis (just as the cuboctahedron represents perfect structural equilibrium). It is the cosmic straight-edge. It weighs the heart against the feather, demanding that raw revelation be rectified into an indestructible, mathematically sound form.
The Ascent (Volatilization): Once purified and aligned within the structural laws of Ma’at, the spirit rises again toward salvation. But it does not return as it left. It ascends no longer as a vague, ethereal spark, but as a fixed, tempered force. The body has been spiritualised and the spirit has been given weight.

To mistake the downward turn for a loss of grace is to fundamentally misunderstand the architecture of creation. The spirit must fall back into the vessel. It must experience the heat, the containment and the precise boundaries of existence, or else the fire simply dissipates uselessly into the void.
This blog is not a diary of where I have been; it is an alchemical engine. It is a standing wave generated between the sky and the ground. Every entry is a single reflux cycle—a moment of soaring into unmediated light, followed immediately by the necessary return to the drawing board, the acoustic chamber, the forearm ratio, and the golden proportion.
We do not escape the vessel by fleeing the law. We master the vessel by submitting to the rectification of Ma’at, allowing the fire within to burn until nothing remains but absolute, geometric purity.
