The Anthropocosm

SO WITHOUT:

The idea of a feminine world is ancient and informed the highest civilisation of all—Egypt. Every woman embodies nature, in imagination and actuality. She also hints at the sacred in the biological and provides an appropriate figure for the metaphoric modelling of the genesis of life. In this sense, the female body constitutes the border between manifested reality and the hidden totality from which all forms emerge.

Having life itself come from womankind implies a birth to all things regarding matters of renewal, expression and manifestation. Anything which gives life and offers sustenance falls under the category of “Mother” much like the Earth does, offering its land to whatever creature desires to live and express itself. So Isis the “Earth Mother” is a personification of the planet and the natural universe.

She is the Anthropocosm—woman as the cosmos.
